After performing alongside Milton Nascimento for 25
years, Robertinho began his solo career and opened a
percussion center in Rio de Janeiro.
From that
point on he has been a most popular giver of workshops, seminars and conventions
on Brazilian
rhythms.
Always interested
in discovering new talent, he began
receiving students from all over the world.
The development
of his own solo career and constant
traveling made it impossible for Robertinho to
continue running the center, a place that will always
remain a fond memory for him.
Currently,
Robertinho goes wherever people want to
learn, and has accumulated in his baggage an endless
list of seminars and workshops.
For
Women
The world
of percussion is predominantly male, and the
women's percussion workshop is a great way for more
women to discover drumming and develop skills in an
all-female environment. Groups have a maximum of 15
people.
A
Few Words from Robertinho
The courses
are studio classes focusing on BRAZILIAN
RHYTHMS, related coordination techniques and
adaptation for the drum set.
The objective
is to reach teachers, students,
professional musicians and anyone interested in
greater familiarity with particularly Brazilian
rhythmic elements.
It has been
shown that in Brazil today the majority of
people know little about their own music rhythmically,
possibly due to the fact that there are very few
schools for traditional/popular music, and because of
the dominating influence of foreign, particularly
American music.
Time and
time again international musicians find great
inspiration in the unique and diverse characteristics
of Brazilian popular music and in the richness of its
rhythms.
