in Rio de Janeiro.

The first Latin American Instrumental Music Festival
will be held in May and features four Brazilian
attractions.

The 1st Latin American Instrumental Music Festival has
been officially launched, and will be held in Rio de Janeiro on May 16 through 26 in two locations (the Museum of the Republic and SESC-Tijuca).

With the support of the Argentinian, Bolivian, Chilean, Venezuelan, Cuban and Peruvian consulates, the festival will feature 12 artists in a total of 20 concerts.

Brazil will make its contribution with the following names: Helena Meirelles, Banda de Pífanos de Caruaru, Décio Rocha (with Zeca Baleiro) and the Bem Brasil band (an ensemble led by percussionists Robertinho Silva and Paschoal Meirelles).

The performances will be recorded and released on DVD
and CD.

Admission to the festival will be free of charge.
