The band "As Levadas" is comprised of 13 women (the Portuguese word levadas means both "grooves" and "mischievous" [women]).

The band plays a wide range of percussion instruments in Afro-Brazilian rhythms and all the levadas of Brazil.

The group accompanies their leader Robertinho Silva,
playing atabaque, surdo, tamborim, shekere, repenique, alfaias, congas, pandeiro and snare drum.

The Levadas are:
Clarisse; Claudia Goes; Claudia Maia; Cristiane; Jaddna; Janaína; Luana; Luciana; Malu Martins; Masako; Sandra; Tatí Calvente; and Amber.
